The Confucius Institute Swansea Chinese School welcomes pupils from all backgrounds to learn Mandarin Chinese and gain UK and Chinese qualifications.

Our classes are held on Sundays during term time at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s IQ Building in Swansea. Fees cover tuition for 39 weeks.

NEW for academic year 2024/2025: one hour per week Chinese Club for children who want to learn some very basic Mandarin and have fun making Chinese crafts and experiencing Chinese culture.

The Chinese school offers the following courses for the academic year 2024/2025:

 Chinese Club - £15 per month

The Chinese Club caters for children of all ages

Classes: 1 hour per week. Depending on numbers, the club has separate sessions for primary school children

 Course A - Mandarin Starters £390 (£10 per two-hour lesson)

Pupils aged between 5 and 7 with little or no background in Chinese.

Classes: 2 hours per week

 Course B – Beginner to Lower Intermediate Level £429 (£11 per two-hour lesson)

Pupils aged between 5 – 11 years who have either graduated from Mandarin starters or who have some basic Mandarin

Qualification: Youth Chinese Test levels 1 – 4

Classes: 2 hours per week

 Course C Intermediate Level Mandarin IGCSE Course £490 (Approximately £12.50 per two-hour lesson)

Qualification: Cambridge International GCSE

Students aged 11 – 16 years prepare to take the Cambridge International Chinese GCSE qualification.

Classes: 2 hours per week

 Course D – Higher Intermediate Level Mandarin HSK 4 Course £526 (Approximately £13.50 per two-hour lesson)

Pupils aged 14+ who have completed Chinese GCSE and want to gain the higher level HSK Chinese language proficiency certificate.

Classes: 2 hours per week

Course E Advanced Mandarin HSK 5 Course £624 (Approximately £16 per two-hour lesson)

Pupils who have passed the HSK 4 test and are preparing for the advanced proficiency HSK 5 test

Classes: 2 hours per week
