Chinese School![]() DescriptionNow starting its 7th year, the Confucius Institute Swansea Chinese School welcomes pupils from all backgrounds to learn Mandarin Chinese and gain UK and Chinese qualifications. Our classes are held on Sundays at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s IQ Building in Swansea. If you are not sure which course to choose, please email [email protected]. The Chinese school offers the following courses for the academic year 2023/2024: Course A - Mandarin Starters £370 (Approximately £9.50 per two-hour lesson) Pupils aged between 5 and 7 with little or no background in Chinese. Classes: 2 hours per week
Course B – Beginner to Intermediate Level Mandarin YCT/GCSE Course £410 (Approximately £10.50 per two-hour lesson) Qualification: Youth Chinese Test Pupils aged between 5 – 11 years prepare to take the Youth Chinese Test at levels 1 – 3. Qualification: GCSE Classes Students aged 11 – 16 years prepare to take the Cambridge International Chinese GCSE qualification. Classes: 2 hours per week (in person and on-line classes available for the GCSE course)
Course C – Higher Intermediate Level Mandarin HSK 4 Course £450 (Approximately £11.50 per two-hour lesson) Pupils aged 14+ who have completed Chinese GCSE and want to gain the higher level HSK Chinese language proficiency certificate. Classes: 2 hours per week (taught online)
Course D AS Level Chinese Course £605 (Approximately £15.50 per two-hour lesson) The Cambridge International AS Level Chinese course prepares students to the very high level of Chinese language required for this qualification. Pupils aged 16+ who have achieved A* or A grade in Chinese GCSE or who have achieved a high score in the HSK 4 test. Classes: 2 hours per week
