Intermediate Chinese II Description20 week course Two hours’ class time per week Full fee: £280 Concessions, including UWTSD staff and students: £240 Course Description This course aims to deepen learners’ understanding of Chinese grammar and vocabulary, and to build on fluency in communication. Comprehension in reading is developed through use of authentic materials, and writing skills are developed both through electronic input using pinyin as well as through handwriting Chinese characters. Topic areas covered by the course making plans for leisure activities, health, sport and culture daily life. Reflecting the greater demands of language learning at this level, weekly homework is set and the use of vocabulary building apps is encouraged. The course leads to the Chinese Proficiency Test HSK 4 (optional, and ideally taken after completing Intermediate III) Intermediate Chinese II starts in October at the Confucius Institute, UWTSD Business Campus, Swansea.
